Design Challenge
The Quantified Self is an international community
of users and makers of self-tracking tools who share an interest in “self-knowledge through numbers.” Quantified Self practices overlap with the practice
of lifelogging and other trends that incorporate technology and data acquisition into daily life, often with the goal of improving physical, mental, and/or emotional performance. The widespread adoption
in recent years of activity trackers such as Fitbit
and the Apple Watch, and apps such as Strava and Headspace, combined with the growth of Internet
of Things-enabled health and wellness equipment, have made self-tracking accessible to a large
segment of the population.
In this project, you will design a mobile app to track an element of a user’s life they wish to change. It might be increasing exercise, more effective time management, writing or drawing more, improving sleep, or something else of your choosing. Tracking can be done by a smart device or you may want to include a separate tracking device.

Solution
When approaching this project, I used my own life for inspiration. I visit the Disney parks fairly frequently with my friends and my mom always loves to hear all the details of what we did and what rides we went on while we were there. I am also a photographer, so the collection of photos from my trips to Disneyland are ever-increasing. This app design was created in Figma and has a sort of scrapbook-like functionality as it serves as an aid in documenting the details of a trip to the Disneyland parks. The user would be someone who frequently visits the parks and likes to take photos and document what they do during each trip, from rides to food to shopping. This app will enable people like me to more accurately recall the details of trips past and share it with others.
